DAISY DAVIS
A veteran broadcaster with upwards of 15 years in the business, Daisy Davis is the Music Director and Assistant Program Director at WDAS-FM, Philadelphia's top rated adult urban station.  She is directly responsible for reviewing new music, making recommendations for additions, changes and deletions to the playlist, and programming the music for special program segments.  Daisy began her career in radio as Director of Continuity at WBMX (later named WVAZ) in Chicago, where she eventually also got her first programming job as Music Director.  She is widely credited with fine tuning WDAS-FM's sound because of her knowledge of and appreciation for music flow, which has directly benefitted the station by increasing its "Time Spent Listening" rating.  Daisy, who is a noted speaker on various industry panels and a recipient of numerous industry awards, including "Music Director of the Year" from Hits, Gavin and Black Radio Exclusive, is a graduate of Illinois State University. (Last taught in Spring 1999)

WENDY DAY
Wendy Day founded the not-for-profit Rap Coalition in March of 1992, out of disgust for the way urban artists are unfairly exploited in the music industry.  Wanting to shift the balance of power to favor the artists, Wendy dumped her life savings into starting the advocacy organization to support, educate, protect and unify hip hop artists and producers--in other words, to keep artists from getting jerked. One of Wendy's priorities is to consult with and help build local and national independent urban record labels so hip hop artists can regain control of their own art form.  Consistent with this goal, Ms Day has negotiated some stellar distribution deals in urban music.  She has played a major part in Eminem's deal at Aftermath/Interscope and Master P's No Limit deal with Priority Records, among others, and negotiated the incredible $30 million dollar deal for Cash Money Records with Universal.  In the Fall of 1998, tired of the lack of professionalism and inconsistencies in managers for urban artists, Wendy started Visionary Management to train up and coming managers in urban music.  Visionary Management currently manages Twista, Ras Kass, Crooked Lettaz, and DJ DMD, and co-manages Parental Advisory (an Organized Noize group) with Mona Scott from Violator Management.  Rap Coalition is headquartered in New York, with offices in Chicago and Los Angeles, and plans to add offices in Atlanta and Houston by the end of the year 2000. (Last taught in Spring 2001)
